At Studio 790 Interior Design, we love projects that tell a story and this Miami home’s dual bathroom renovation is all about balance. One space embraces quiet, spa-like calm, while the other makes a bold, unforgettable statement. Together, they perfectly capture our client’s personality and our philosophy of approachable luxury.

The Primary Bathroom: A Spa-Inspired Sanctuary

Let's kick things of with this incredible before and after.

Two bathrooms side by side: left with a built-in tub and neutral tones; right with a freestanding tub, brass faucet, and greenery.

Our client dreamed of a space that felt like a luxury spa retreat, complete with a custom steam shower so that’s where our design journey began. We believe in sourcing materials in person, and after a few tile-hunting stops, we found exactly what we needed at Porcelanosa.

There, our client was immediately drawn to a sandy-beige, wave-textured large-format tile, which set the tone for the entire bathroom. Installed on the main feature wall, the undulating texture evokes a soft, organic feel that’s both serene and sophisticated. We paired it with coordinating flat tiles for balance and continuity.

To create a subtle “wow” moment, we designed an infinity shower niche that runs the full length of the bathtub-to-shower wall. Soft LED lighting tucked inside the niche casts a gentle glow, perfect for decompressing after a long day under the steam shower.

The vanity side features a custom oak-veneer double vanity with integrated sinks and brass plumbing fixtures that add warmth and refinement. The true showstopper, though, is the Pantai quartzite slab a striking mix of green, brown, and ivory veining that feels earthy yet elevated. We echoed this same stone on the shower bench to tie the entire room together.

The result? A calming, spa-like primary bathroom that feels like a daily escape, seamlessly blending tranquility with timeless luxury.

The Guest Bathroom: Bold, Playful, and Unforgettable

Two bathrooms with black-and-white checkered walls. One has a person in a mirror, a green vanity, and the other a large plant and marble sink.

Where the primary bath whispers, the guest bath makes a statement. Designed to function almost like a powder room, we wanted this space to be bold, memorable, and a little unexpected.

We started with a black-and-white checkered wallpaper, the visual anchor that gives the room its energy and character. From there, every element was chosen to complement that daring backdrop.

The centerpiece is a custom viola marble sink, sourced directly from a vendor in Turkey via Etsy, a testament to how global design inspiration can come from anywhere. Our local carpenter built a bespoke vanity base in a deep finish to anchor the marble’s movement and pattern.

To complete the look, we added an organic brass mirror, CB2 onyx sconces, and playful wall art that ties the story together. The end result? A guest bathroom that’s stylish, daring, and full of personality, a conversation starter that feels right at home in Miami.

Two Bathrooms, One Vision

Though visually opposite, both bathrooms share the same Studio 790 approach: intentional materials, thoughtful layering, and elevated simplicity.

From the tranquil textures of the primary suite to the bold graphic flair of the guest bath, each space was designed to reflect a different side of our client’s lifestyle and together, they tell one cohesive story of modern Miami living.
