STUDIO 790
Luxury Interior Design Questions, Answered
Thinking about hiring an interior designer? Start here.
Whether you're building a new home, renovating an existing one, furnishing a vacation property, or planning a luxury hospitality experience, you've probably got questions. We've answered some of the most common ones below to help you understand the design process, what to expect, and whether Studio 790 is the right fit for your project.
-
What does a full-service interior designer actually do? Think of us as the quarterback of your entire project. Yes, we'll create a beautiful home—but that's only part of what we do. We coordinate thousands of decisions behind the scenes, from space planning and custom cabinetry to lighting, furniture, materials, procurement, vendor management, installation, and styling. Our clients hire us because they don't want to manage dozens of vendors, make hundreds of design decisions alone, or wonder if everything will come together in the end. That's our job. Yours is to enjoy the process and love the finished result.
-
When should I hire an interior designer during a home renovation? As early as possible. One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is waiting until construction has already started. By then, many of the most important decisions have already been made. Bringing us in early allows us to collaborate with your architect and builder, think through layouts, lighting, cabinetry, finishes, and functionality before construction begins. It almost always leads to a better result—and often prevents expensive changes later.
-
Do I need an interior designer if I'm building a custom home? If you're investing in a custom home, we'd say a hard yes. A custom home should feel intentional from the moment you walk through the front door and we can help both with that and the entire financial process. That doesn't happen by making isolated decisions throughout construction—it happens by having a clear vision from the beginning. We're there to make sure every detail works together so your home feels thoughtfully designed rather than pieced together over time with wasted time and money.
-
We already have an architect and contractor. Can we still hire Studio 790? Absolutely. In fact, many of our clients hire us after they've already assembled their team. We work alongside architects, builders, contractors, and trades every day, and we genuinely believe the best projects come from strong collaboration. Our goal isn't to replace anyone—it's to help everyone create the best possible outcome for your home.
-
How much does it cost to hire a luxury interior designer? Every project is unique, so there isn't a standard price. Your investment depends on the size of your home, the scope of the project, the level of customization, and the services you need. After our discovery call, we'll create a proposal tailored specifically to your project. We believe in being transparent from the beginning so you know exactly what to expect.
-
What budget should I plan for a luxury interior design project? There's no magic number because every project is different. Whether you're renovating one space or furnishing an entire home, we'll have an honest conversation about your goals, priorities, and investment. Our job is to help you make smart decisions that create the biggest impact while respecting your overall budget. Luxury isn't about spending more for the sake of it—it's about investing thoughtfully in the things that matter most.
-
Is hiring an interior designer worth the investment? We hear the same comment from clients all the time: "I wish we'd hired you sooner." Hiring an interior designer isn't just about creating a beautiful home. It's about avoiding costly mistakes, simplifying an incredibly complex process, and making hundreds of decisions with confidence instead of second-guessing yourself. The right design doesn't just look better—it lives better.
-
How long does a luxury interior design project usually take? The honest answer? It depends. A furnishings project may take several months, while a full renovation or custom home can easily take a year or more. Construction schedules, permitting, custom manufacturing, and shipping timelines all play a role. We'd rather give you realistic expectations than unrealistic promises. Great design takes time, and it's worth waiting for.
-
