What It Actually Takes to Design a Luxury Formula 1 Hospitality Suite in Miami

What does it actually take to design a luxury Formula 1 hospitality suite? A lot more than picking beautiful furniture and we're sharing all the details.

When TWG Global approached Studio 790 to design their suite at the Miami Grand Prix Paddock Club, the ask was clear: don't just furnish the space. Transform it. Completely.

Here's how we did it.

The Brief

TWG Global came to us with a vision: a fully custom Formula 1 hospitality experience built around custom architectural millwork, bespoke furniture, elevated finishes and thoughtful styling. The suite needed to host executives, partners, clients and VIP guests throughout race weekend. A space where people could relax, network, dine and experience Formula 1 in a setting that truly reflected the caliber of their brand.

It was the first time our team designed and fabricated an entire Formula 1 suite from the ground up. From our very first conversation, we knew this project would require innovative thinking, flawless coordination and fast pace execution. We knew it. And we were ready.

The Design Concept

We approached the project as if we were designing a luxury residential lounge rather than an event space.

Our inspiration came from boutique hospitality and high-end residential interiors. Layered materials. Architectural details. Warm, inviting spaces that make you want to settle in. We wanted guests to completely forget they were inside a temporary structure and instead feel like they'd stepped into an exclusive private club. Sophisticated, comfortable and memorable while still capturing the excitement and prestige of Formula 1.

The suite reflected TWG Global's elevated and forward-thinking brand while staying true to our design philosophy at Studio 790. Modern sophistication meets genuine warmth. Impressive and welcoming at the same time.

The Challenges

Here's the thing about designing for Formula 1: the deadline doesn't negotiate.

The biggest challenge was pulling off a fully custom build within Formula 1's incredibly compressed schedule. We designed and fabricated custom wall millwork, built bespoke furniture, coordinated multiple fabricators and managed installation all within a matter of weeks! Every single detail had to be designed, produced, delivered and installed on an immovable timeline. No wiggle room. None.

On top of that, because everything was installed inside a temporary hospitality structure, we had strict venue regulations, loading schedules, installation windows and construction limitations to work around. Did those constraints make things harder? Absolutely. Did they also push us to think more creatively than ever? One hundred percent!

And throughout all of it, luxury never meant sacrificing function. Every seating arrangement, custom furniture piece and gathering area was intentionally planned to support hospitality, conversation, dining and race viewing. Guest flow, comfort, durability and flexibility. All of it was considered. All of it was intentional.

The Materials

We leaned into warm wood tones, custom millwork, soft performance fabrics, textured wall treatments, stone-inspired surfaces and subtle metallic accents. A palette that felt timeless and elevated, one that let the branding and race-day energy stay front and center without competing with the design.

Formula 1 naturally brings excitement. Rather than try to match that energy, we created a refined backdrop where guests could comfortably take it all in. Warm materials, thoughtful styling and layered textures that softened the high-energy environment while still feeling luxurious and distinctly Studio 790.

The custom architectural wall installation? One of our absolute favorite moments of the entire project.

It completely transformed the shell of the suite and set the standard of craftsmanship for everything inside it. Watching all the custom elements come together the millwork, the furniture, the styling was the moment the suite stopped being a temporary structure and started being a destination.

The Moment We Knew

Installation week. That was it.

Watching the custom millwork go up, seeing the furniture placed and layering in the final styling details the transformation was undeniable. It no longer looked like a Formula 1 event suite. It felt like somewhere you'd want to stay long after the race was over. Every detail was designed to do one thing the moment a guest walked in: make them feel impressed, welcomed and curious to see more. Quality, craftsmanship and hospitality communicated in every corner of the room.

What This Project Taught Us

Designing a home and designing a hospitality experience are more different than you might think and more similar than you'd expect.

A home evolves over years. An event space gets one shot. Every design decision has to land immediately while supporting hundreds of guests over just a few days. The experience becomes just as important as the aesthetics. Maybe more.

This project reinforced something we already believed but got to prove on a whole new level: great design isn't limited by timelines or temporary environments. We pushed beyond traditional event design, collaborated closely with fabricators and trades and delivered a hospitality suite that felt every bit as intentional and elevated as a permanent interior. We're proud of that.

The Outcome

The client was thrilled and honestly, so were we. Seeing their vision realized through a fully custom-built hospitality experience was incredibly rewarding, especially knowing how much coordination and craftsmanship went into every single detail. They were excited to welcome their guests into a space that truly stood apart.

The response throughout race weekend said it all. Guests gravitated toward the suite, stayed to enjoy it and noticed the details. For us, that's the greatest compliment we could receive, creating an environment where people genuinely wanted to spend time, and one that delivered the premium experience TWG Global set out to create.

That's what we design for. Every time.

If you have a project that deserves that same level of intention whether it's a full home redesign in Pinecrest or a custom commercial build in Miami we'd love to hear about it. And to support you.
