Hi! My name is Sarah Simos. I'm a midwest girl, born and raised in Chicago. I moved to LA 5 years ago because I'm addicted to the sun and love the ocean. If astrology is real and there was a picture next to Sagittarius in the dictionary, it would be mine. Adventurous, out-going, free-spirited, honest to a fault, independent, and always aching for freedom. I love nothing more in the world than learning and traveling. I am very close with my family and have friends all over the world from various trips. I love life and my experiences have taught me to let go, not plan too much, and just enjoy this wild ride!
How did you meet Ann?
Ann and I met over 22 years ago when we both joined a business fraternity at the University of Illinois. We became fast friends which blossomed into an amazing friendship. We have been through all of life's trials and tribulations together and I can't imagine doing it without her. Our relationship is full of laughter, honesty, vulnerability, support, and growth. I'm so lucky to call her my best friend and beyond blessed we were brought together all those years ago.
What's your favorite thing about working at AUID?
Besides the fact that I get to work with my best friend and two other amazing women? Ann is a great leader, and I've always admired her career. When she asked me to join her team part-time, I didn't have to think twice. I know everything she touches is done with gratitude and integrity. She gives me the liberty to take the lead and respects my ideas even when we don't always agree. I think our honesty and respect for one another, as well as our comfortability to tell each other like it is has allowed us to be successful co-workers.
What attracts you to the field of interior design?
The creativity, the photography, and the opportunity to express yourself through your personal space.
2021 is in full effect - tell us your peak and pit so far!
Love this game! Ann plays with her daughter Zoey every day and I think it's such a wonderful way to get people to open up and express their feelings.
Thankfully, my only pit has been the waiting game this past year. My peaks have been growing my role with AUID, booking some upcoming travel, and finally mending a bad hip that hasn't allowed me to exercise. (I'm dying to get back to Yoga!) Sorry, I'm not a one-response type of gal...
Covid has been hard - really hard. But it also has come with some surprise blessings. Tell us something that has been GOOD for you during this pandemic!
Finding out I'm going to be an aunt for the first time! Slowing down, saving money, focusing on work, and being near people I love the most.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hands down, ice cream! Or a charcuterie plate. Again, I'm not capable of choosing just one!

I'm a tie between 7 & 8. See, I can't even take a test and get one answer.
7 is The Enthusiast - the busy, fun-loving type: curious, optimistic, spontaneous, variety-seeking, thoughtful, and a bit scattered and restless.
8 is The Challenger - the powerful, assertive type: strong, confident, independent, and blunt (I tell it like it is..).

What the what? I can only keep up with one social media platform - so Reels it is.
Single or married?
Divorced. ;) Honestly, I love my independence, but also wouldn't mind someone to take care of and explore the world with. I love love. 💖

Give me all the dogs! There isn't a pup I walk by that I don't wonder "What's he thinking about?" LOL.
Favorite Netflix show?
Recent favorite is Ted Lasso on Apple TV. LOL funny and extremely heartwarming.

I have so many options living in LA. Either dressed up/heels/red lipstick and out for drinks with the girls OR super casual/beach day that lasts until sunset. I'm all about balance and versatility.

I'm a pretty open book...but probably just that I'm more sensitive than I come off to most people and even though I am a total extrovert, I love my alone and quiet time to recharge.
