Have we ever told you that designing bathrooms is our favorite? Well, now you know. Most people don't realize the intricacies that go into a bathroom remodel and if we are being honest, we have learned a LOT in the last few years. From threshold height to sconce placement to tile installations and rough plumbing requirements, designing bathrooms requires as much left brain as it does right. AND WE ARE HERE FOR IT!
And so, when our Chicago client called us up and said they were renovating a mid century home and wanted our help with a few things, namely the bathrooms, we said an emphatic yes! One master bathroom, one shared bathroom for their three daughters and one guest bathroom coming right up! They wanted modern mid century with a layer of classic. They wanted color and fun. They wanted the lights to be lead the way in design (the husband works for a lighting design company...hence the name of the project, The Lighthouse). And we wanted to hug them for these requests. Music to our ears!

Master Bathroom:
Bold and modern, this master bathroom has a few highlights. First, the client chose our very own AUID waves wallpaper in black. We complemented that with with neutral white hexagon tile on the bathroom floor and then this turquoise elongated subway tile in the shower. The custom vanity was a showstopper, added a layer of warmth, function and form.

Girls Bathroom:
Keeping to the theme of neutral tiles paired with bold and whimsy, this girls bathroom may be one of our favorite bathroom designs yet! Colorful, energetic, well-lit, and classic, these girls will grow up and have a blast together here.

Guest Bathroom:
Last but not least, this mid century guest bathroom is, well, amazing in our humble opinion. Clean lines, modern, an amazing semi-handmade custom vanity, we think The Lighthouse guests will want to wash their hands for an extra few minutes in this bathroom ;) And can you tell we loved all the hexagon tile for this home? There are so many options for hexagon tile - size and color and pattern - and the price point is good! And here we paired white hex tile on the floor with this amazing hex wallpaper, lighting and knobs. We are maximalists okay? #sorrynotsorry
