Introducing Grandmillennial With a View

One of the many things we love about our clients and projects is how versatile they can be; from a full-gut renovation to a one-room makeover, whether it's construction or styling, we are here for it!

For this special edition of our latest Miami interior design project reveal, we would like to present: Grandmillennial with a view, a furnishing and styling project that has us all still swooning over every detail, from the floral Rifle Paper Co wallpaper moment in the entryway, to the Anthropologie fern cabinet that we wish we could use in every project.

But first, let's talk about the grandmillennial style.

Grandmillennial design style, also known as "granny chic," is a decorating style that has gained popularity in recent years. It combines traditional and vintage elements with modern touches, resulting in a comfortable and nostalgic aesthetic. Some of the features of grandmillennial design style include:

  1. Floral prints: grandmillennial design often incorporates floral prints, including large-scale chintzes, florals, and botanicals.

  2. Fringe and tassels: Fringe and tassels are popular in this aesthetic, appearing on pillows, lampshades, and other decorative items.

  3. Antique and vintage pieces: grandmillennial style incorporates antique and vintage pieces, such as chandeliers, oil paintings, and ceramics.

  4. Bold colors: While this design tends to feature soft and muted tones, it also includes bold pops of color, such as chartreuse, coral, or navy blue.

  5. Traditional patterns: In addition to floral prints, grandmillennial design often incorporates other traditional patterns, such as toile, stripes, and plaid.

  6. Textured fabrics: Textured fabrics, such as velvet, chenille, and brocade, are often used to add depth and visual interest.

  7. Wall coverings: Wallpaper is a key element often featuring florals, damask, or geometric patterns.

  8. Eclectic mix: grandmillennial design is all about mixing and matching different styles and eras, resulting in a cohesive yet eclectic look.

Our task for this project was to use as much of the existing furniture infusing character, and warmth in a space that reflected our client’s energy, style, and hobbies. Ultimately, making the client's home a reflection of who she is, not just with pretty furniture, but with intentional details in every room.
