Building Forward: Studio 790 Returns to Serve in El Salvador with TECHO

In 2024, Studio 790 was given the opportunity to step outside our day-to-day work and into something that changed us.
Our team traveled to Guatemala and partnered with TECHO to help build two homes for families in need. In just a few days, alongside local volunteers and future homeowners, we witnessed what happens when community, purpose, and action come together. Those homes weren’t just structures. They were safety. They were dignity. They were hope and a foundation for what comes next.
That experience stayed with us long after we returned home.
Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are
Giving back has always been one of Studio 790’s core values. It’s woven into how we lead, how we design, and how we show up in the world. As interior designers, we’re used to transforming spaces, grabbing hammers when needed, jumping in on installs, and perfecting last-minute details on projects every day.
But nothing compares to the fulfillment of building a home from the ground up for a family in need.
Partnering with TECHO has been a dream. Their mission aligns so deeply with what we believe: that housing is dignity, safety, and opportunity.
In Partnership with TECHO again, we are going to El Salvador in 2026!
This year, we’re honored to be returning this time to El Salvador, to help build one more home for a family in need. We could have treated Guatemala as a one-time experience. But once you see the impact of showing up, using your hands and your resources to change someone’s reality, it becomes impossible to walk away. Being able to continue this work, first by building two homes in Guatemala, and now by returning to serve in El Salvador, is an honor we don’t take lightly.
This work grounds us. We thank God we have the opportunity to help. It reminds us that while design can be beautiful, impact is powerful.

In partnership with TECHO, our goal for this build is to raise $6,500. This will cover the materials, logistics, and local support required to construct a safe, dignified home for a family in El Salvador. Every dollar raised goes directly toward making this home possible. This isn’t a symbolic gesture. It’s a tangible place where a family can rest, grow, and build a future.
